Peaky Blinders expands cast as New Birmingham power struggle takes shape

Netflix and the BBC have announced several new additions to the cast of the upcoming Peaky Blinders series, welcoming Conleth Hill, Daniel Monks, Samuel Bottomley, Arturo Muselli, Eugene Collins, Lucie Shorthouse, and Cal O’Driscoll to the acclaimed franchise. The production will also see the return of Ned Dennehy and Packy Lee, reprising their roles from the original series and film.

Joining the creative team behind the camera are directors Mike Barker and Anna Zackrisson, while Tim Whitby serves as producer.

Conleth Hill, known for his role in Game of Thrones, joins the cast as Clemmy Keeler, the formidable patriarch of the Keeler family. As Birmingham enters a new chapter of reconstruction and opportunity, Clemmy emerges as a powerful rival to the Peaky Blinders in the battle to reshape the city. Cal O’Driscoll portrays Clemmy’s son, Aidan Keeler, while Daniel Monks takes on the role of Detective Inspector Bell.

Set a decade after World War Two, this new era of Peaky Blinders explores a city undergoing dramatic transformation. As Birmingham races toward renewal, the struggle for power becomes a brutal contest of mythical proportions. Duke, played by Jamie Bell, and Charles Shelby, portrayed by Charlie Heaton, find themselves navigating a city filled with unprecedented opportunity and danger.

At the center of the conflict are Duke Shelby’s Peaky Blinders, including Eliot, played by Samuel Bottomley, Angelo, portrayed by Arturo Muselli, Frank, played by Eugene Collins, and Kezia Lee, portrayed by Lucie Shorthouse. Ned Dennehy and Packy Lee return as fan favorite characters Charlie Strong and Johnny Dogs.

The newly announced cast joins previously revealed cast members Jessica Brown Findlay, known for Silo and The Flatshare, Lashana Lynch of The Day of the Jackal and No Time to Die, and Lucy Karczewski of Stereophonic.

Steven Knight returns as creator and writer of Peaky Blinders. The series is directed by Mike Barker and Anna Zackrisson, with Tim Whitby serving as producer.

Production is currently underway in and around Digbeth Loc. Studios in Birmingham. The series is produced by Banijay UK companies Kudos, known for SAS Rogue Heroes and House of Guinness, and Garrison Drama, the production company behind Peaky Blinders series one through six and Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.

Since its debut on the BBC in 2013, Peaky Blinders has grown into a global phenomenon, attracting a devoted fan base around the world and earning numerous accolades, including the 2018 BAFTA Award for Best Drama Series.

The newly announced Peaky Blinders series will premiere on Netflix in the United States and territories outside the United Kingdom. In the UK, the series will be available on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
