The Strangers Ends Its Trilogy With a Final Reckoning

Lionsgate has set a February 6, 2026 U.S. release for the final chapter in The Strangers trilogy, closing out the long-running horror saga with a return to its roots—masked terror, relentless tension, and survival at its most unforgiving.

Directed by Renny Harlin and written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland, the film is based on characters created by Bryan Bertino, who launched the franchise with his original vision of minimalist, home-invasion horror.

The story centers on Maya, portrayed by Madelaine Petsch, who comes face to face with the masked killers one final time. Positioned as a full-circle conclusion, the film leans into a brutal reckoning—one shaped by survival, confrontation, and revenge. Joining Petsch are Gabriel Basso and Ema Horvath, rounding out a cast that anchors the trilogy’s final descent into fear.

Produced by Courtney Solomon, Mark Canton, Gary Raskin, Alastair Burlingham, and Charlie Dombek, the film is presented by Lionsgate. It is a Fifth Element production, made in association with Stream Media and Sherborne Media.

With its promise of a definitive ending and an unflinching tone, the final installment aims to bring The Strangers saga to a close in the same unsettling spirit that made the franchise a staple of modern horror.
