Traveling To Vegas: Hot Fun In The Summertime

Giada

If you’re looking for a good time, what better place to search than Las Vegas, where there are more things to do than you have time for? Such was my situation as I just returned from a high-powered weekend of business and pleasure in Sin City. I managed to squeeze in a visit to the oh-so-hot Italian restaurant Giada inside the Cromwell Hotel where the food and atmosphere is to die for. After a scrumptious dinner, I jaunted upstairs to visit Drai’s, which is considered the largest club in the world, where just getting admitted to the club was a journey in itself. So much so, that I scrapped the whole idea after seeing the metal detectors, hand wands and pat-downs required to enter. Something tells me that if people are suspected of being armed, it’s probably not my scene.

Rcok Of Ages

Anyway, I managed to catch “Rock of Ages,” the musical showing inside the Venetian, which was quite enjoyable and chock full of classic eighties tunes like Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’,” Pat Benatar’s “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” and Foreigner’s anthemic “I Want To Know What Love Is,” just to name a very few. There is plenty of long-haired rock and roll to go around.

And finally I had the pleasure of seeing the Cirque du Soleil production of “Michael Jackson: One” at the Mandalay Bay. As with all of the Cirque du Soleil shows, the production is top-notch and this one is filled with the music of the “King of Pop,” which is worth the price of admission alone. You can read the review in our upcoming issue of LATF: The Magazine. One thing’s for sure; a good time was had by all…
