Celebrate Caribbean American Heritage Month at Leimert Park

“LA Carnival on the Shaw” returns to the community for the third year, honoring Junteenth and celebrating Caribbean American Heritage Month.   Music, masquerades and multicultural merriment will parade along Crenshaw Blvd., Sunday, June 29th, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 

Carnival Vibe Spots’ will be hosted by participating merchants such as The District who will host the carnival after party and Wah Gwaan Jamaican Restaurant and Bar, serving up delicious Jamaican food and exciting music all day.

Queen Aminah in Leimert Park Village  will add her ‘queenly’ African flavor to the festivities by presenting a special fashion show along the parade route. New this year, revelers, masqueraders, drummers, and DJ’s will set the carnival tone with a unique Vibe Spot ‘Lime’ at the Assembly Hub on Obama Blvd. and Crenshaw from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

At 6:00 p.m. the carnival will parade south on Crenshaw, parallel to the Metro K-Line into Liberation Plaza in Leimert Park.
