Spike Lee Presents Lucy Mulloy’s Directorial Debut “Una Noche”

On August 23rd IFC Films will release UNA NOCHE, the directorial debut from Lucy Mulloy presented by Director Spike Lee.

Una Noche trails the lives of three Cuban teenagers as they try to escape the Communist island nation for a better life in the U.S. Special attention was brought to this film following the disappearance of two of its cast members while en route to the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival. Similar to the characters they portrayed in the film, Actors Javier Núñez Florián and Anailín de la Rúa de la Torre resurfaced a few days later declaring that they were seeking political asylum from Cuba –  a decision that is not unique to the island’s history.

Una Noche received top honors at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival, including Best film by a New Director, Best Actor (shared by the two male leads), and Best Cinematography.
