Thanksgiving Movie Releases 11/22-11/25

Rise of the Guardians

Did you know that Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman, and Jack Frost all had secret powers beyond their ability to turn certain days out of the year into festive occasions? In ‘Rise of the Guardians’, these legends of childhood dreams and fantasies must team up together and take on the evil spirit known as Pitch in order stay in the hearts and beliefs of children everywhere.

Life of Pi

Based on Yann Martel’s incredibly creative work of fiction, ‘Life of Pi’ ponders the meaning of life through the eyes of a son of a zookeeper who survives a shipwreck by escaping on a lifeboat with a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan…and a giant Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. Adapted for the screen and directed by Oscar winner Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain), ‘Life of Pi’ stars Suraj Sharma, Irfan Khan, Tabu, and Adil Hussain.

Red Dawn

In this reimagining of the classic 1984 Patrick Swayze film, ‘Red Dawn’ explores the extent to which our nations citizens would give up in order to maintain peace and happiness in America. As foreign paratroopers invade cities all across America, common civilians must pick up arms and combat the villainous foes in guerilla style home front warfare. Chris Hemsworth, Josh Peck, Josh Hutcherson, and Isabel Lucas star, with Dan Bradley handling directorial duties.

A love story about one of the most influential filmmakers of the last century, Alfred Hitchcock (Anthony Hopkins) and his wife and partner Alma Reville (Helen Mirren). The film takes place during the making of the iconic movie maker’s seminal film Psycho. Also starring Scarlett Johansson, Danny Huston and Toni Collette. Based on the book: “Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho” by Stephen Rebello.
