Production is officially underway on season two of the hit Max Original drama series The Pitt, which quickly became one of the streamer’s top-performing shows after its debut. Created by R. Scott Gemmill and produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, the critically acclaimed series is once again filming on the historic Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California, with exterior scenes shot on location in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Set to premiere in January 2026, season two follows the show’s successful first season, which earned a 95% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes and remained in the top three most-watched titles globally on Max.
The Pitt offers an unflinching look at the complex realities of America’s healthcare system, told through the eyes of hospital workers on the frontlines in Pittsburgh. The show blends emotional storytelling with grounded realism, spotlighting the human cost and personal sacrifices made by medical professionals in today’s world.
The series stars Noah Wyle, who also serves as an executive producer. R. Scott Gemmill returns as creator and executive producer, alongside Emmy® winner John Wells (ER, Shameless), Michael Hissrich (The West Wing, Third Watch), Erin Jontow (Animal Kingdom, Maid), and Simran Baidwan (The Good Doctor, Chicago Med).
With momentum and acclaim behind it, The Pitt is poised to deliver another powerful season in early 2026.
