79th Cannes Film Festival Adds More To Official Selection

The 79th edition of the Festival de Cannes continues to take shape. Following the official press conference on April 9, a new group of films has been announced, completing the 2026 Official Selection. The additions span Competition, Un Certain Regard, Cannes Première, Special Screenings, and Family Screening—offering a broader view of emerging voices, established auteurs, and international storytelling.


Competition

The Competition lineup welcomes one final title:

  • Paper Tiger, directed by James Gray

Un Certain Regard

This section, known for spotlighting bold and distinctive works, adds a mix of first-time filmmakers and notable voices:

  • Victorian Psycho, directed by Zachary Wigon
  • Mémoire de fille (A Girl’s Story), directed by Judith Godrèche
  • Titanic Ocean, directed by Konstantina Kotzamani (First Film)
  • Ulysse, directed by Laetitia Masson (Closing Film of Un Certain Regard)

Cannes Première

The Cannes Première section expands with several new additions, including multiple directorial debuts:

  • The End of It, directed by Maria Martinez Bayona (First Film)
  • Marie Madeleine (Mary Magdalene), directed by Gessica Généus
  • Aquí, directed by Tiago Guedes
  • Mariage au goût d’orange, directed by Christophe Honoré
  • Si tu penses bien, directed by Géraldine Nakache

Special Screenings

The Special Screenings section features a wide range of storytelling formats, from debut features to documentaries and animation:

  • Vesna (Spring), directed by Rostislav Kirpičenko (First Film)
  • Ceniza en la boca (Ashes), directed by Diego Luna
  • Tangles, directed by Leah Nelson (First Film / Animation)
  • Le Triangle d’Or, directed by Hélène Rosselet-Ruiz (First Film)

Family Screening

A final addition rounds out the selection with a film aimed at younger audiences:
