JetBlue and United Airlines have announced Blue Sky, a new consumer-focused collaboration that links their loyalty programs and expands travel options for customers of both airlines. The initiative will allow United’s MileagePlus® members to earn and redeem miles on most JetBlue flights, while JetBlue’s TrueBlue members will gain similar access to United’s global network, including destinations such as Cape Town and Tahiti.
The partnership includes reciprocal loyalty benefits such as priority boarding, access to preferred and extra legroom seats, and same-day standby or flight changes. Flights will also be available for booking on each airline’s website and mobile app. The agreement is structured as an interline relationship, not a codeshare, allowing each airline to continue operating under its own brand and flight numbers.
As part of the collaboration, JetBlue will grant United access to slots at JFK International Airport for up to seven daily round-trip flights starting in 2027. In addition, the two carriers will exchange eight flight times at Newark Liberty International Airport.
JetBlue’s Paisly platform will power United’s vacation booking services, consolidating hotel, car rental, cruise, and insurance options under a single digital interface. The partnership also aims to extend certain business travel benefits and may include corporate discounts on the partner airline’s flights.
Blue Sky further positions JetBlue as the first airline partner to adopt United’s Kinective MediaSM technology, a platform designed to deliver personalized advertising and branded content to airline passengers.
The full rollout of reciprocal benefits is expected later in 2025, pending regulatory review.
