It's the second tie of the season after week seven's tie between the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals. It’s the first time the NFL has featured ties on consecutive weeks since 1997. In one of the stranger developments of the week, Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas was flagged… for a hug. Of course, the person he hugged was a referee, and the contact was not appreciated, earning him the penalty. Thomas likely wasn’t in such a loving mood after the game, as the Seahawks fell to the Saints, 25-20. Also, Cam Newton, the Panthers quarterback, said after taking a hit to the knee that was not penalized, that he is not "protected in the pocket" enough and doesn't feel safe.
