According to Deadline.com, we have a new Hook. Garrett Hedlund, who most know from “Tron Legacy” will play the leading role of Hook in “Pan.” Directed by Joe Wright for Warner Bros., the film is a new twist on the J.M. Barrie classic.
As reported, the leading role choice came down to Hedlund, Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire) and Ezra Miller (Perks of Being A Wallflower).
“Pan” is written by Jason Fuchs and will be produced by Greg Berlanti under Berlanti Productions. Sarah Schecter will oversee for Warner Bros. studio. The story follows an orphan who is taken to the magical world of Neverland, where he becomes the savior of the natives and leads a rebellion against evil pirates. Hugh Jackman reportedly will play Blackbeard, the captain of the bad guys, and Javier Bardem has also been mentioned for that role. Warner Bros has set a July 17, 2015, release date for the 3D-shot film.
