The Los Angeles Lakers have continued reshaping their roster for the upcoming NBA season, announcing the additions of veteran center/forward Kevon Looney and guard Collin Sexton while also securing the return of standout guard Austin Reaves.
Looney joins the Lakers after spending the 2025-26 season with the New Orleans Pelicans following a decade-long run with the Golden State Warriors. The three-time NBA champion brings championship experience, rebounding prowess and veteran leadership to Los Angeles.
Over 620 career regular-season games across 11 NBA seasons, Looney has averaged 4.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting 57.0% from the field. Widely regarded as one of the league’s premier offensive rebounders, he led the NBA with 274 offensive rebounds during the 2022-23 season and ranks among the top 15 in offensive boards over the past five seasons. His 1,280 offensive rebounds with Golden State rank fifth in Warriors franchise history.

The Wisconsin native has also appeared in 89 career playoff games, averaging 5.3 points and 6.3 rebounds while shooting better than 61% from the field. From 2021 through 2025, Looney played in 289 consecutive regular-season and playoff games, the fifth-longest streak in Warriors history.
Originally selected 30th overall by Golden State in the 2015 NBA Draft after one standout season at UCLA, Looney earned Second Team All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Freshman honors with the Bruins. He will wear No. 55 for the Lakers.
The Lakers also announced the return of Austin Reaves, who has emerged as one of the NBA’s most successful undrafted players since joining the franchise following the 2021 NBA Draft.
“Austin’s relentless pursuit of improvement, fierce competitiveness and commitment to winning have made him an integral part of our organization,” said Lakers President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Rob Pelinka. “From the moment he joined the Lakers, Austin has embodied the work ethic and selfless approach that define our culture. We’re thrilled to continue building with him as a cornerstone of our team as we pursue our championship goals.”
Reaves is coming off the finest season of his career, averaging a career-high 23.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.1 steals in 51 games during the 2025-26 campaign. His scoring average was the highest by an undrafted player since Moses Malone averaged 23.8 points during the 1985-86 season, while also marking the highest by an undrafted Lakers player since Hall of Famer George Mikan in 1951-52.
The Arkansas native has steadily improved each season, increasing his scoring average from 7.3 points as a rookie to 23.3 points in his fifth NBA campaign.
Reaves and teammate Luka Dončić formed the NBA’s highest-scoring backcourt duo in 2025-26, combining for 56.8 points per game. During the season, Reaves became just the second undrafted player in Lakers history to score 5,000 career points exclusively with the franchise and climbed to fifth on the team’s all-time three-pointers list with 611 made shots.

Among the highlights of his season was a career-high 51-point performance against Sacramento on Oct. 26, making him just the 12th player in Lakers history to score at least 50 points in a game. Three days later, he matched his career high with 16 assists against Minnesota before hitting a game-winning buzzer-beater.
Through five NBA seasons, Reaves has appeared in 331 regular-season games with the Lakers, averaging 15.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.5 assists while shooting 48.3% from the field. He has also averaged 17.3 points in 32 career playoff appearances and started every postseason game during the Lakers’ run to the 2023 Western Conference Finals.
Adding further depth to the backcourt, Los Angeles signed veteran guard Collin Sexton.
Sexton averaged 15.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.1 steals in 68 games split between the Chicago Bulls and Charlotte Hornets during the 2025-26 season. After joining Chicago in February, he elevated his production to 17.5 points per game over the final 26 contests.
A consistent scorer throughout his career, Sexton has averaged at least 15 points in seven of his eight NBA seasons.
The 27-year-old owns career averages of 18.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists across 475 regular-season games with Cleveland, Utah, Charlotte and Chicago. His best statistical season came in 2020-21 with the Cavaliers when he averaged a career-high 24.3 points per game.
Originally selected eighth overall in the 2018 NBA Draft by Cleveland, Sexton starred for one season at Alabama, earning First Team All-SEC honors and conference co-Freshman of the Year recognition. Internationally, he helped Team USA capture the gold medal at the 2016 FIBA Under-17 World Cup and was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
Sexton will wear No. 10 for the Purple and Gold.
With the additions of Looney and Sexton alongside the return of Reaves, the Lakers continue to strengthen their roster with a combination of championship experience, proven scoring and established depth as they pursue another NBA title.
