Netflix has already secured the streaming rights to Ricky Gervais’ next stand-up special, Legend, before the comedian has even stepped onto the stage for the tour.
The new show will launch as a global live tour beginning in autumn 2026 and continue through the end of 2027, when it will be filmed and released as Gervais’ fifth Netflix stand-up special. The deal extends a successful partnership that has seen his previous specials become major streaming hits worldwide.
Gervais announced the first leg of UK dates for the Legend tour, running from September through December 2026. Additional arena dates across the UK, Europe, and North America are expected to be announced for 2027 as the tour expands internationally.
The comedian’s previous tours — Humanity, SuperNature, Armageddon, and Mortality — have broken box office records and performed strongly on Netflix. Both Armageddon and Mortality earned Gervais Golden Globe Awards for Stand-Up Comedy on Television in 2024 and 2026, respectively.
Tickets for the initial UK dates go on general sale June 26, 2026, at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.
Describing the new material, Gervais said, “This is my most personal show so far and because both cancel culture, and most people I knew growing up, are dead, I can really say what the f*ck I want now.”
While Netflix has not disclosed the financial terms of the agreement, Gervais joked about the deal’s value, saying, “I’m not saying how much they’re paying me this time, but I can say it’s my favourite deal so far.”
In addition to the tour, Gervais plans to continue his charitable efforts. A portion of ticket sales from Legend will be donated to charity, following the conclusion of his Mortality tour in 2025, which generated £2.43 million for animal welfare organizations around the world.
With a new tour, another Netflix special on the horizon, and his trademark no-holds-barred approach intact, Gervais appears poised to continue his reign as one of stand-up comedy’s biggest global draws.
