The Long Beach Coast today announced a new partnership with the Port of Long Beach, naming the organization an Official Partner of the club ahead of its inaugural season.
As part of the partnership, the Port of Long Beach will serve as the presenting partner of the club’s Independence Day celebration and America’s 250th Anniversary Game on Thursday, July 2 against the Oakland Ballers at historic Blair Field. The evening will conclude with a special postgame drone show.
The marquee summer event will recognize the Port’s role in supporting American commerce and global connection while celebrating the spirit of Long Beach through baseball and community.
The partnership also included support of the Long Beach Coast’s first-ever free youth baseball clinic held last Saturday, May 9 at Blair Field in collaboration with the Long Beach State Dirtbags. The “Play Ball With the Pros” clinic welcomed more than 150 young athletes ages 4–7 for a morning of baseball fundamentals led by Long Beach Coast players and coaches.
Port of Long Beach CEO Dr. Noel Hacegaba and Long Beach Harbor Commission President Frank Colonna were both in attendance to support the event and help celebrate the next generation of Long Beach athletes.
“The energy and turnout at Saturday’s clinic showed exactly what baseball can do for a community,” said Paul Freedman, Co-Founder of the Long Beach Coast. “The Port of Long Beach shares our belief that sports can bring people together and create meaningful opportunities for local families. We’re proud to partner with an organization that plays such an important role in the identity and future of Long Beach.”
“The Port of Long Beach is proud to team up with the Long Beach Coast for its inaugural season,” said Hacegaba. “This partnership reflects our organizations’ shared commitment to engaging the local community, creating opportunities for youth and celebrating the organizations that make Long Beach such a fantastic and vibrant place.
Throughout the season, the Port of Long Beach will also be featured through in-stadium branding, community programming, and digital content tied to the partnership initiatives.
The Long Beach Coast will begin play in the Pioneer Baseball League next week on Tuesday, May 19 in Marysville, CA against the Yuba-Sutter Freebirds. The home opener is set for Tuesday, June 2 at Blair Field. Limited tickets are available at www.longbeachcoast.com.
