The public relations industry is experiencing a notable period of realignment and shake-up, driven by senior leadership shifts, client movement, and the rise of new agency configurations that challenge legacy structures.
A recent high-profile change involves veteran publicist Christa Dallas, who has joined Narrative as vice president. Dallas departs Wolf Kasteler Public Relations, where she spent a tenure managing talent and corporate communications. Several of her clients, including Jennifer Hudson and Viola Davis, are understood to be transitioning with her to Narrative’s roster.
This shift comes amid broader structural change. Legendary PR firm Rogers & Cowan and PMK*BNC, once foundational firms in entertainment and brand public relations, merged in 2019 to form a powerhouse entity representing scores of corporate brands and talent. Over time, that merged firm—known as R&CPMK—has seen key leadership departures, including in 2024 when its Co-Presidents of Talent, Lindsay Galin and Jeff Raymond, exited to launch a new talent-centric agency, 2PM Sharp. Legal disputes followed over client solicitations and contractual issues, though the New York case has since been dismissed.
At the same time, Acceleration Community of Companies (ACC) recently announced the launch of PMK Entertainment, an integrated network designed to unify creative, branding, and strategic communications services. This new network says farewell to the Rogers & Cowan brand and has welcomed former R&CPMK employees and clients into its fold.
In May, Ina Treciokas, a longtime partner at Slate PR, departed to launch Ingenuity Group, a talent and brand consultancy in partnership with ACC and DKC. Her exit saw several senior professionals from Slate join her in building the new firm. Clients such as Woody Harrelson, Harrison Ford and more made the move with Treciokas.
The question now is who will merge or crumble next?
