HBO has officially expanded the future of its “Game of Thrones” universe. Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO and HBO Max Content, announced the renewal of both A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon, securing new seasons of each series through 2028. Both shows will continue to air on HBO and stream on HBO Max.
The half-hour drama A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been renewed for a second season ahead of its series premiere on Sunday, January 18 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The newly announced Season 2 is set to debut in 2027.

Meanwhile, House of the Dragon continues its momentum with Season 3 arriving in summer 2026. HBO has also ordered a fourth season of the hit series, slated for 2028, further solidifying the franchise as one of the network’s top pillars.
With these renewals, HBO extends its Westeros storytelling well into the decade, giving fans an expansive slate of epic fantasy programming to look forward to.
