Is Ed Hardy Back Thanks To Machine Gun Kelly?

Announced on his instagram, multi-platinum recording artist mgk has joined forces with iconic streetwear brand Ed Hardy for a bold, limited-edition merch collection, set to debut this weekend at ComplexCon Las Vegas (October 25–26).

Designed by Ed Hardy creative director Kevin Christiana and mgk himself, in partnership with Floor 13, mgk’s creative content and music company, the collection blends Ed Hardy’s signature tattoo-inspired designs with mgk’s interpretation of American nostalgia. Drawing inspiration from his latest lost americana album, the collection includes various t-shirts, hats, bandanas, sweatsuits, and more.

Before Ed Hardy sold to Iconix for $62 million, Christian Audigier was at the helm of the brand and licensing. LATF exclusively reported Audigier’s passing in 2015. Since then, the Ed Hardy name was on a downward spiral decline in popularity.

In addition to the partnership, this week mgk is celebrating the five year anniversary of his widely successful album Tickets to My Downfall. As he releases a new track from the vault every day this week, today he drops “home bittersweet home.”

“Ed Hardy’s roots and Americana vibe was a perfect collaboration for my ‘lost americana’ album and what it represents. Having the opportunity to pull from their archival designs for this collaboration is a true full circle moment,” says mgk.

The limited-edition Ed Hardy collection is manufactured by Revise Clothing Inc. and launches ahead of mgk’s upcoming global Lost Americana Tour. With over 20.6 billion streams and millions of albums sold, this marks his largest tour to date, spanning across North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Kicking off in Phoenix, AZ on November 18, the full lineup, routing, and ticket information can be found HERE.

mgk will also headline three major events in November, including the 30th Anniversary Vans Warped Tour in Orlando, the 112th Bud Light Grey Cup Halftime Show in Winnipeg, and the Formula 1 Heineken Grand Prix in Las Vegas.
