Lorde returns with What Was That, her first major release in almost four years and co-produced by Lorde, Jim-E Stack and Dan Nigro.
Her biggest hit to-date is “Royals” — which was her breakout single from 2013. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 for nine consecutive weeks, making her the youngest solo artist to achieve a No. 1 in the U.S. since 1987.
The song also won two Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
The music video was shot on location in New York, including Washington Square Park, where Lorde surprised fans with a pop-up performance earlier this week.
