Is ChatGPT The Most Popular A.I. Platform?

A.I. is becoming a part of our daily lives in work and play. We hear about ChatGPT and Midjourney… but what are the top A.I. programs being used?

New research names ChatGPT as the most searched for artificial intelligence model in America.

  1. ChatGPT is America’s most searched for A.I. model, with an average of 22,372,050 searches each month. OpenAI’s popular chatbot was launched in November 2022 and quickly became one of the fastest-growing consumer software applications, gaining over 100 million users in just two months. ChatGPT has a free and paid version available, with the free version using GPT-3.5 and the paid version using GPT-4.
  2. Grammarly is next, with 2,912,150 average searches each month. Grammarly is an invaluable tool for those who write for a living. Released in 2009 as a spellcheck app, in 2023 the company released Grammarly Go, an AI writing assistant that uses analysis of the user’s tone and word choices to build responses to various prompts.
  3. Midjourney ranks third, with 645,013 searches each month on average. The first of the image generators on the list, Midjourney was released in 2022. Users provide the model with prompts such as “white yacht on stormy seas” and then four images are provided. Midjourney can be accessed through Discord bot commands and has been involved in controversy over its usage.
  4. DALL-E 3 is fourth on the list, with an average of 366,377 searches each month. Released in September 2023 and integrated into ChatGPT, DALL-E is another text-based image generator. Both DALL-E and Midjourney have been involved in court cases due to the models being trained on the work of online artists without consent.
  5. Microsoft Copilot is fifth, with 334,761 average searches each month. Originally known as Bing Chat, the service has now been integrated into the Windows ecosystem, replacing former assistant Cortana. Copilot runs on the same technology as ChatGPT and has chatbots with differing uses, including a fitness trainer and travel planner.
  6. Siri is next on the list, with 274,960 monthly searches on average. Since 2011, Siri has been part of Apple software and acts as a personal assistant, being able to make and receive phone calls, search the internet, and scheduling events.
  7. Claude 2 has 122,456 average monthly searches. Wordtune in eighth place, with 119,712 monthly searches on average. Google Gemini, with an average of 112,737 monthly searches, and finally, Airgram, with 108,206 average monthly searches.
