The Eagles just gave their star quarterback Jalen Hurts a massive contract extension, and it’s a real game-changer. According to multiple reports, the deal is worth a jaw-dropping $255 million for five years, making Hurts the highest-paid player in NFL history with a mind-boggling average of $51 million per year.
The deal also includes a whopping $179.3 million in guarantees, including $110 million fully guaranteed at signing and $126.5 million fully guaranteed by March 2024, as well as the first no-trade clause in Eagles history. It’s clear, Philly wants the 24-year-old football star to stay and bring home a championship ring.
The Eagles quarterback is eligible for an additional $15 million in incentives, allowing him to earn up to $274.304 million through 2028, including $4.304 million that he would’ve been due in the final year of his original rookie contract this season.
Hurts will earn $64 million through the first new year in 2024 after receiving a raise in 2023, including a $23.294 million signing bonus. The Eagles have him under contract for the next six years, on a deal that allows them to keep the team together around him.
