James Corden To Leave ‘The Late Late Show’ in 2023

CBS’ The Late Late Show announced in a statement and on twitter: @latelateshow / “After an incredible run, James announces that he will bid farewell to The Late Late Show in 2023”

Since 2015, each weeknight, THE LATE LATE SHOW has featured a mix of celebrity guests, musical acts, games and sketches.

Corden announced his decision during the Thursday taping this week:

“When I started this journey, it was always going to be just that. It was going to be a journey, an adventure. I never saw it as my final destination, you know?” he said. “And I never want this show to overstay its welcome in any way. I always want to love making it.”

He added that the show “has changed my life. … I am so proud of what we’ve achieved. It’s been beyond my wildest, wildest dreams.”

Corden differentiates his show by giving a peek behind the scenes into the green room, bringing all of his guests out at once and lending his musical and acting talents to various sketches.

Additionally, bandleader Reggie Watts and the house band provide Corden with original, improvised music throughout the show.

Since Corden took the reins as host in March 2015, the show has quickly become known for generating buzzworthy viral videos, such as “Carpool Karaoke.”
