Waking up this morning to more nonsense with breaking news headlines: the Supreme Court has voted to strike down the landmark Roe vs. Wade decision. I have a few questions for those who think that they know a thing or two about pregnancy.
When was the last time Justice Alito was pregnant? I pose that same question to Mitch McConnell, who slammed the unprecedented leak of the drafted Supreme Court decision.
For my part, I believe this might be a political move on the part of the extreme conservatives to try to make trouble; as if the world was not complicated enough. And why should these men in positions of power at the government make any decision regarding this matter? Are they going to raise these children? Will they see to their education or help their future in any way shape or form? Well, we know this answer.
We are not living in the 1900s anymore. It is time for everyone to get with the program. Abortions have always existed and always will no matter what any Justice thinks. If a woman does not want to have a child, it is no one’s decision but hers. Better to have an abortion by a doctor than to do it in a back alley where she can die. Have Mitch McConnell and Justice Alito considered that at all? Then, who will be the murderers? We have enough poverty, or are you blind to the people living in the streets; people who cannot provide for themselves? Do we need to add to the problem?
Not all Republicans think like you do. This is a shame. I hope everyone is going to rally and fight to keep Roe vs. Wade. It makes no sense to go backward. Let’s all join the fight!
