The 7th annual Hollywood Beauty Awards (HBAs), founded by CEO Michele Elyzabeth, took place on Saturday, March 19 at the Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles. The HBAs honor the architects of beauty, recognizing talent in hair, makeup, photography and styling for film, TV, music, the red carpet and editorial.
Wayman + Micah were nominated for The Sharen Davis Styling Award along with nominees: Alana Van Deraa, known for her work with Chrissy Teigen and Adam Ballheim, known for his work with Machine Gun Kelly.
Actress Logan Browning and 2020 Styling Winner Candice Lambert presented the category and announced Wayman + Micah as the winners upon opening the envelope.
Styling duo Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald, better known as Wayman + Micah, joined forces in 2013 after working with Conde Nast publications, Marc Jacobs and Alice + Olivia. Styling Forest Whitaker for “The Butler” press tour launched their career to new heights. With looks seen in and on the covers of Vogue, Glamour, Entertainment Weekly, Essence, InStyle, Rolling Stone and more, Wayman + Micah have also styled stars for the Met Gala, the Oscars and Hollywood film premieres. With campaigns for Cadillac, Macy’s, Lacoste and John Varvatos, they have worked with Tessa Thompson, Regina King, Saweetie, Tiffany Haddish, Colman Domingo, and Corey Hawkins.
Award highlights include: Lizzo made a surprise appearance for Makeup winner Alexx Mayo, Laura Dern presented to longtime film hairstylist Frida Aradottir, Henry Golding announced the winner of the premiere Groomer of the Year award and presented to friend, Melissa DeZarate.
