Los Angeles Zoo Extends Closure Through Late April

Based on Mayor Eric Garcetti's "Safer at Home" order issued last night, in accordance with the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, the Los Angeles Zoo will extend its closure through Sunday, April 19.  Essential Zoo employees will continue to report to work as normal, in order to care for our animals and the facility.

"The L.A. Zoo understands the importance of all the precautions the City has taken and fully supports the Mayor's new 'Safer at Home' order which is aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19," said Denise M. Verret, CEO and Zoo Director of the Los Angeles Zoo. "Since we can't welcome guests through our gates, we are working to bring the Zoo to you and your family through social media and the Zoo's website.

The Zoo continues to update its COVID-19 webpage (www.lazoo.org/covid-19) with the most current information. The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association (GLAZA) is automatically extending current memberships for the length of the Zoo's closure. Guests can also connect to the animals while the Zoo is closed by following along on the Zoo's social media for regular posts, videos, and updates @lazoo and #lazoo.
