What's worse than springtime cold & cough season? For pet owners… it's FLEA SEASON! Did you know that almost 72% of pet parents don't research flea and tick prevention, and only 50% say that they treat their pets year-round?

According to a recent study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were more than 36,000 Lyme disease incidents reported in the United States in 2016 alone. Fleas and ticks can easily latch onto dogs and cats, and can spread serious illnesses, including Lyme disease. Once in your home, they can also bite and pose health risks to human family members.

While some pet protection products must be given monthly, newer flea and tick preventatives can provide extended protection. Pet owners need to educate themselves on the right medication. Our Pet Corner reporters decided to beat flea season by talking to veterinarian, Dr. Marina Kotlarenko of Cahuenga Pet Hospital. All of those questions you've had about fleas and nasty ticks… Dr. Kotlarenko has the answers!

Watch our premiere Pet Corner episode (Click video above) to learn how you can protect your pet with BRAVECTO (fluralaner), a prescription product that provides 12 weeks of flea and tick protection. Our superhero vet touches on important points including:
