Chris Cornell, lead singer of Soundgarden and Audioslave, died Wednesday night at the age of 52.

According to reports, Cornell was performing in Detroit just before his death. Detroit Police Department told CNN that the singer's death is being investigated as a "possible suicide."
A family friend called the police after finding Cornell "unresponsive" on the bathroom floor at the MGM Grand hotel, spokesman Michael Woody said.
Soundgarden was in the midst of their North American headline tour. In March, Cornell’s new single “The Promise” was released on iTunes with proceeds donated to The International Rescue Committee.
On Wednesday, Cornell had tweeted: #Detroit finally back to Rock City!!!!
