It's National Chocolate Chip Day! Supposedly the chocolate chip was invented in 1937… and our taste buds are all the more happy for it!

From chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream to chocolate chip cookies, there are plenty of ways to celebrate in the kitchen.

We discovered this delicious Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe from Haggen.

What You Need:

2 1/4 of all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. of baking soda
1 stick of unsalted butter
1 cup of brown sugar
1 tsp. of salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. of vanilla extract
2 cups of semisweet chocolate chunks

What To Do:

Heat oven to 375°. Whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda in a bowl. In another bowl, mix butter, sugar, and vanilla, and beat until smooth and fluffy. Add yolks and beat. Then, add the dry ingredients and stir until combined. Don’t forget to add the chocolate chunks!

Scoop the dough with a tablespoon and roll into balls, and space them on your pan about 2 inches apart. Bake until golden, usually around 15 minutes or less.
