Fox Announces New Shows, Series Renewals

Empire Renewed: Season Four Premeire Date Set

The hit drama kicks off Wednesday March 22 at 9:00pm PST. Empire is both hugely popular and critically acclaimed, garnering numerous Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for its third season. This included Golden Globe wins for Best Drama Series and Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama (Taraji P. Henson). Empire was also nominated for best Best Compilation Soundtrack at last year's Grammy Awards. In addition to its talented cast which includes Terrence Howard, celebrity guest stars are a regular feature. Mariah Carey, Taye Diggs, Phylicia Rashad, Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Marisa Tomei, Naomi Campbell, Ludacris, Adam Rodrgiuez, Rosie O'Donnell, and Andre Royo have appeared in the past.

Jamie Foxx to Host New Game Show, Beat Shazam

Beat Shazam is a unique, interactive concept where teams of two race against the clock and each other as they attempt to identify the biggest hit songs of all time. In the end, the team with the highest score will outlast the competition and go against Shazam, the world's most popular song identification app, for the chance to win a cash prize. Executive produced by Foxx, Mark Burnett (Survivor, The Voice, and Jeff Apploff (Don't Forget the Lyrics), Beat Shazam will debut this summer.

"Jamie is a quadruple-threat and creative genius," said Burnett. "He is an incredible actor, comedian, singer, and dancer. Also, his musical knowedge is so great that he could probably beat Shazam!"

Fox Orders Four Additional Episodes of The Mick

The order from Fox will bring the first season episode total to seventeen. The Mick is having a strong debut season, earning the spot of television's highest rated new comedy. Starring Kaitlin Olson (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia), its next new episode will air on a special time this Sunday after The Simpson's first ever hour long show (8:00-9:00pm) this Sunday (January 15). Afterwards, the show will return to its regular scheduled Tuesday slot at 8:30pm.

Andy Cohen to Host The Love Connection Reboot

From relationship show guru Mike Fleiss (The Bachelor), The Love Connection is a new one-hour series that amps up the original hit dating show for today's audiences. Each hour will feature single men and/or women in search of romance. After the singles are sent on three blind dates, the will dish the dirt in front of a live studio audience, as the well-known provocateur Cohen, brings his personal brand of audacious fun to the series.

"I was a huge fan of the original Love Connection, and hosting the new version allows me to do one of the things I love most: meddling in people's personal lives," said Cohen, a past Emmy Award winner.

"Love Connection was always one of my favorite programs," added Fleiss. "Show creator Eric Lieber was a close friend of mine. He taught me a lot about the relationship show format. The first rule – if the cast is good, just stay out of the way."

Making History Premieres Sunday March 5th at 8:30pm

Making History follows three friends from two different centuries as they try to balance the thrill of time travel with the mundane concerns of their everyday lives. Starring Adam Pally (The Mindy Project), Leighton Meester, and Yassir Lester (Girls), the show comes from the talented team of creator Julius "Goldy" Sharpe (Family Guy), as well as executive producers Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Seth Cohen, and Jared Hess.

Kicking and Screaming Debuts Thursday March 9th at 9:00pm

The comedic competition series teams 10 expert survivalists with pampered partners to face the toughest challenge of their lives. Hosted by Hannah Simone (New Girl), the hour long series drops these unlikely duos into a tropical jungle in Fiji, where they must overcome dangerous animals, raging rivers, hunger, and extreme weather. To win, the experts will have to drag their partners to the finish line. Kicking and Screaming comes from executive producer Katt Kunitz (Fear Factor).

Shots Fired Launches Wednesday March 22nd at 8:00pm

Shots Fired examines the dangerous aftermath of two racially charged shootings in a small Southern town. The compelling series stars Sanaa Lathan (The Perfect Guy) and Stephan James (Selma), as well as Academy Award winners Helen Hunt (As Good As It Gets) and Richard Dreyfus (Jaws).

Prison Break and 24 Return This Spring

Original series stars Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Cailles, Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, Rockmond Dunbar, and Paul Adelstein are reunited for an all-new adventure spanning the globe. The next chapter of Prison Break premieres Tuesday April 4th at 9:00pm.

24: Legacy kicks off its special two-night premiere after the Super Bowl on February 5th and continues Monday night February 6th.
