Six months after Mexican drug lord "El Chapo" Guzman escaped from prison, authorities have captured him once again.
According to reports from CNN, Mexican authorities "snared drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman in a bloody raid Friday."
Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto tweeted "Mission Accomplished" and "We have him."
Guzman's escape was not the first time Mexican authorities were embarrassed. The drug kingpin managed to escape back in 2001.
This time around, members of Mexico's navy caught him in an operation around 4:30 a.m. (6:30 a.m. ET) in the coastal city of Los Mochis in Sinaloa state, a senior law enforcement official in Mexico told CNN. Several peopleconnected to Guzman died in the raid.
