On Thursday, a gunman, now identified as twenty-something Muhammed Youssef Abdulazeez, opened fire at an Armed Forces Career Center at a strip mall near Chattanooga, Tennessee. The shooter then drove to the U.S. Naval Reserve Center, where he killed four Marines and injured a police officer.
According to reports, federal authorities are investigating the case as a possible act of domestic terrorism. CNN reported that the department of Homeland Security is closely monitoring the shooting.
“We’ve had a tragedy unfold in Chattanooga today,” said Gov. Bill Haslam. “I know Tennesseans join me in being sickened and saddened.”
