Five Suspects Held, One Confesses To Murder Of Russian Leader Boris Nemtsov

On Sunday, a judge in Moscow said that two of the five suspects connected to the fatal shooting of Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov have been charged with murder. One of the suspects confessed to the killing.

Just last Friday, on February 27th, Nemtsov, who often spoke out against President Vladimir Putin, was shot to death near the Kremlin while walking with a woman.

Both, Zaur Dadaev and Anzor Kubashev were formally charged Sunday’s hearing. Dadaev confessed to his involvement. According to USA Today, Federal Security Service director Alexander Bortnikov said Dadaev served with Interior Ministry troops in volatile Chechnya in the North Caucases while Kubashev worked for a private Moscow security firm.

The other three suspects are Kubashev’s brother Shagit, Ramzat Bakhaev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov. Eskerkhanov and Bakhaev were ordered held until May 8, Shagit Kubashev until May 7, RT news service reported.
