Just one day after the New York City Police Department buried two of their officers, two police on duty responded to a robbery. Officer Andrew Dossi, 30, was then shot in the left arm and lower back. Aliro Pellerano, 38, was shot in his left arm and chest, according to reports.
The manhunt continues as the shooter fled the scene. Mayor Bill de Blasio said at a Tuesday press conference, “They went above and beyond the call to protect their fellow New Yorkers.
Thank God the officers are doing well and will recover.”
Although there is no known connection, violence against police has risen since the chokehold death of Eric Garner.
