The 2014 edition of Cinema Italian Style, a Los Angeles showcase for Italian contemporary cinema produced by Luce Cinecittà and the American Cinematheque –officially opened this week with the screening of Paolo Virzì’s Human Capital, the Italian entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards®, at the Egyptian Theatre.
Cinema Italian Style will continue at Aero Theatre in Santa Monica until Tuesday, November 18th, with a special selection of movies from the past year.
The week began with a successful screening of the digitally restored version of Giuseppe Tornatore’s Cinema Paradiso, produced by Franco Castaldi and supported by Dolce & Gabbana, in association with Luce Cinecittà and Cineteca di Bologna.
Until November 21st, Cinema Italian Style 2014 presents a selection of documentaries and film bios of some of cinema’s most important figures (Franco Cristaldi, Sophia Loren, Quentin Tarantino…), and a special program dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Istituto Luce.
