Earlier in September, Olympic athlete, Oscar Pistorius was cleared of murdering his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. However, he was found Pistorius guilty of culpable homicide. Separate from the shooting of Steenkamp, Pistorius was found not guilty of two other incidents and guilty for weapon related charges, as well as a shooting at a restaurant.
The runner’s judgement days are here as his sentencing hearing is now underway. How will he serve for his actions and will he get away with murder without going behind bars?
Pistorius could face up to 15 years in jail, according to reports. Although, a probation officer appearing for the defense said Pistorius should serve house arrest and community service. Prosecutor Gerrie Nel’s reply described the sentencing call as “shockingly inappropriate.”
