Pharrell, Chris Rock, Drake And More Take The Stage For The 2014 BET Awards

Chris RockThe most recognizable faces in entertainment will be in attendence at the 2014 BET Awards, broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles tomorrow night, June 29, at 8pm ET. Like every year, the show will feature performances and tributes by some of the best musical talent on the planet.

Among them, Emmy and Grammy Award winner, Chris Rock will host.

I watch the BET Awards every year. It’s one of my favorite award shows combining people from movies, sports, TV and music,” said Rock. “Where else can you get Rick Ross and Michelle Obama in the same room? The BET Awards is like a party where nothing is off limits. My peers have done the show now it’s my turn.”

Lionel RichieLike all award programs, the BET Awards will reward nominees coveted prizes in their respected industries. Among nominees, Jay-Z, Beyoncè, and Drake lead all participants with five, followed by new artist August Alsina and Pharrell, who also intends to perform, with four. This year’s honoree of the Lifetime Achievement Award is musical icon, Lionel Richie.

I am extremely honored to receive the BET Lifetime Achievement Award,” said Richie. “In Black America, it’s the ‘BET Awards’ where artists receive the highest recognition for their talent from their peers and fans. I am so proud to be included in the extraordinary company of past ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ recipients.”

Pharrell, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Lil Wayne, Trey Songz and Richie are among the names set to perform on this year’s show. “106 & Park” hosts Bow Wow and Keshia Chante along with actor Larenz Tate will also present at the awards show.

Actress, Kerry Washington will make her first, much anticipated TV appearance at this year’s festivities and singer Robin Thicke will perform a new single sure to entertain the crowd. Kevin Hart and Tracy Morgan are also set to appear.
