Luke Robinson lost his Great Pyrenees dog Malcolm due to cancer in 2006. Malcolm is not alone as the latest statistics reveal as many as 4 to 6 million dogs pass away due to canine cancer each year. Due to this alarming figure, Luke is a big advocate about educating and spreading the word about the disease, and has since founded The Puppy Up Foundation, a national organization that raises awareness and support for canine cancer.
This week, Luke will be starting his second walking journey with his two Great Pyrenees, Hudson and Indiana, along the West Coast (the first journey was in the Eastern region between Houston and Boston in 2008). With approximately 2000 miles to cover, his journey from the Canadian to Mexican border should last about six months. Along the way, Hudson and Indiana will be sporting Tagg GPS Pet Tracker collars to document every step of the way.
Tagg GPS Pet Tracker is the industry leading pet GPS and fitness tracking device, and is supporting Luke’s mission by supplying their products and GPS service charges for free. In addition, during the 6-month journey, consumers who buy a Tagg GPS Tracker via www.pettracker.com with coupon code “2dogs” will receive an automatic ten (10) percent off the Tagg Tracker. At the end of the walk, twenty-five (25) dollars of each purchase made with the coupon code above will be donated to Luke and his nonprofit The Puppy Up Foundation.
“When our company heard of Luke’s story and his second walking mission with his two dogs to spread the word about canine cancer, we immediately wanted to be involved,” remarked Tagg GPS Pet Tracker Vice President of Marketing, Jeff Zotara. “Not only will Tagg keep Luke’s dogs safe from the possibility of being lost, but will also be helpful in monitoring the dogs activity and exercise during this long journey.”
