Philip Seymour Hoffman Suffered From Drug Addiction

Following the tragic death of notable actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, details have surfaced regarding the cause of his passing at the age of 46 years-old.

According to reports, investigators have found more than 70 glassine-type bags which are believed to be heroin. Also discovered in the actor’s apartment were several bottles of prescription drugs and more than 20 used syringes.

Hoffman had reportedly suffered from a drug addiction for years. In past interviews, he had admitted to relapsing after 23 years of living sober. Last year, the actor had checked into a rehabilitation facility.

Hoffman leaves behind three children and his partner Mimi O’Donnell. She told investigators that he had appeared to be “high” the day before his death.

The loss of such a talented individual has shocked the industry. We should plan on seeing a memorial tribute at the Academy Awards on March 2nd, 2014.
