Patton Oswalt Changes Up The Independent Spirt Awards

Feathers will fly at the 29th annual ceremony for the Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday, March 1.

Host Patton Oswalt announced today that he plans to replace the ceremony’s symbolic avian trophies with a live bird for each award winner at the event, a daytime luncheon in a tent on the beach in Santa Monica. Are we talking pigeons or doves, Oswalt?

The premiere broadcast will air later that evening, at 10:00 pm ET/PT, exclusively on IFC.

Now in its 29th year, the Film Independent Spirit Awards is an annual celebration honoring artist-driven films made with an economy of means by filmmakers who embody independence and originality.
