“The Wolf of Wall Street” stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill will work together again, sooner rather than later. The second time around, their next film will also be based on a true story.
According to Deadline, 20th Century Fox has made a deal to acquire rights to Marie Brenner’s 1997 Vanity Fair article “The Ballad Of Richard Jewell.”
The article investigates the eponymous 1996 Atlanta Olympics security guard. Jewell became known in connection with the Centennial Olympic Park bombing. Discovering a backpack filled with three pipe bombs on the park grounds, Jewell alerted police and helped to evacuate the area before the bomb exploded, saving many people from injury or death. Later Jewell was considered a suspect. Deadline says that the role is being developed for Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio will player the Southern litigator who came to Jewell’s aid.
