Edit GoPro Footage On The Go

muvee Device Solutions Group announced the launch of muvee Action Studio an app that edits GoPro videos directly on Android phones and devices.

This revolutionary app is the first to target GoPro users that sideloads videos to their Android devices. There are three different editing modes: Fast, Automatic and Pro.

Fast Mode: This mode exclusively uses muvee’s proprietary Compressed Domain Engine (CODEN) which edits videos without decoding them.  Users can instantly trim clips, join them together, and even add speed ramp effects to specific moments and save and share instantly. With this technique, HD and even 4K videos can be produced instantly with zero quality loss even on mid-range smartphones as computational power is made irrelevant.  As long as the device can playback the video, it will be able to edit it.

Automatic Mode: Using muvee’s patented Artistic Intelligence engine, users can select a Style to quickly generate a professional-looking video with complex OpenGL effects and 3D transitions instantly.  Users can select any music track and muvee will cut the videos to the beat of the music instantly using proprietary music analysis techniques.

Pro Mode: Features a full manual editing timeline complete with professionally designed transitions, filters and overlays that were specifically created for action-oriented footage.  Users can trim/split/join their video clips and also mix in photos.  They can also refocus and reframe shots, create time remaps of particular clips to create dramatic slow motion sequences. Filters and graphic overlays like vignettes, lens flares and grainy film scratches can then be added. Additionally, they can enhance their story by adding Captions, Intertitles and Credits.  In this mode, users will have all the tools they will need to produce a professional-looking video with simple finger taps, slides and swipes on a very responsive user interface.  For example, to split a long clip, users simply swipe across the screen downwards.  Pinch and un-pinch to expand the timeline; grab and slide to trim clips.  Slide left and right to pull out the Filters and Overlaps tabs.  Slide up and down to tweak audio balance between music and video.

“I was snowboarding in Lake Tahoe with my GoPro and wanted to quickly put some highlight clips together to music and post on YouTube.  I did not want to bring a PC along with all the other equipment I was already lugging.  I then realized that there must be a ton of GoPro users who are out mountain biking, diving, surfing or kayaking … in at places where you don’t want to bring a PC.  But we always have our phones with us.  I thought: “I should be able to edit my GoPro videos on my phone immediately!”  Now we can.” Says Terence Swee, Founder and CEO of muvee, and an avid triathlete, mountain climber and aerial-drone pilot.

muvee Action Studio will be available on Google Play in mid-March for $19.99
