The details of the plan for Syria to hand over their chemical weapons is on its way. Syria will fulfill the initiative only when the US stops threatening to strike, according to President Bashar al-Assad in a TV interview.
“When we see the United States really wants stability in our region and stops threatening, striving to attack, and also ceases arms deliveries to terrorists, then we will believe that the necessary processes can be finalised,” he was quoted as saying in an interview with Russian state television.
Chicago Tribune: “I am certain that there’s a chance for peace in Syria,” President al-Assad said, adding a warning to U.S. President Barack Obama that military intervention in response to the chemical attack would further destabilize Syria and the wider region.
