Nearly four years ago, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan stormed into one of Fort Hood’s military buildings and killed or wounded more than 40 American soldiers.
Yesterday, after more than two hours of deliberation, the jury responsible for the case sentenced the former Army psychologist to death by lethal injection.
Hasan has been granted his wish to become a Muslim martyr. Upon hearing the verdict, he reiterated his wish to die once again before leaving the courtroom.
