For 87-year-old actor Dick Van Dyke, every extra day on Earth is a good one. Well, the Hollywood veteran almost bit the dust this afternoon after his Jaguar burst into flames on an L.A. freeway.
Jason Pennington, the man responsible for pulling Van Dyke out of his car, told TMZ that he saw a vehicle full of smoke on the side of the 101 Freeway and an elderly person stuck behind the wheel.
Long story short, Jason is a hero, Van Dyke didn’t suffer any major injuries, and commuters everywhere are happy that the 101 is up and running at full speed again.
