Poor Excuses For “Political Leaders” Anthony Weiner & Bob Filner

Anthony Weiner

Clearly Anthony Weiner has other things on his mind, separate from running for the Mayor of New York. Sexting. And, not surprisingly, Weiner is not alone in the political pervert category. On the West Coast, San Diego Mayor Bob Filner is being accused of making unwanted sexual advances towards seven women. After local party leaders have insisted Filner resign, the 70 year-old Mayor has refused to leave.

Back in New York — Despite Weiner’s claims that he has moved on and ‘learned from his mistakes,’ women are coming out of the woodwork – accusing Weiner of similar relationships to the one which derailed his political career two years ago. Twenty-three year old Sydney Leathers has spoken out, saying she has proof that Weiner hasn’t changed. She told Inside Edition, “He was making these campaign promises that he’d totally changed – that he was a better man now and had learned from his mistakes, and I am proof that that is not true.”

Why are we giving a chance to a man who isn’t focused on the job? Along with Filner, Weiner is a valid case of poor leadership and the wrong person in the wrong political position. On Thursday, Weiner could not give a confirmed number regarding how many women besides Leathers he had sexted, tweeted, emailed and flirted with in cyberspace since being forced out of New York’s 9th Congressional District seat in June 2011.

He pathetically told reporters, “I don’t believe I had any more than three.” Enough of the politicians who believe they can get away with their dirty habits. Luckily, Weiner’s unfavorability rating has reached an all-time high. As for Filner, political consultant, Laura Fink said it best, “If he can’t represent his values, he should step down.”
