After six seasons with the US soccer team, Los Angeles Galaxy, David Beckham has played his final game. Today, LA Galaxy won its second consecutive MLS (Major League Soccer) title after beating the Houston Dynamo 3-1.
No doubt, Beckham’s popularity in US pop culture has brought soccer to a new level in the states. Throughout his time playing with LA Galaxy, 7 new teams and 10 new soccer stadiums have been added to the league. Even attendance has increased with a record high this season; with more crowds than the average in the NBA and NHL.
Now that he’s finished playing for the US, Beckham is currently a free agent.
