Resident Evil: Retribution

The fifth installment of the highly successful film adaptations of the even more popular video game franchise once again shows Milla Jovovich reprising her role as Alice. This time, Alice must team up with a resistance movement in the never-ending battle against the Umbrella Corporation as well as the living-dead.

Nicolas Cage plays an ex-thief who, after eight years of prison, tries to reconnect with his estranged daughter. After one of Cage’s ex-partners kidnaps his daughter and asks for a $10 million ransom, Cage has one day to come up with the money in this high-octane action flick set during Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

Robert Miller (Richard Gere) is the quintessential portrait of how today’s public views people who work in high finance. He is exceedingly rich, over his head in fraud, and sexually insincere with his wife. But that’s only Robert’s interior persona. On the exterior, he is everything a successful New York City magnate should be. What happens when Robert’s interior begins to leak into the exterior?

Liberal Arts

Writer/director Josh Radnor plays Jesse Fisher, a depressed 35 year old who finds his passion for life reawakened after he is invited to give a retirement speech for one of his old college professors (Richard Jenkins). At the retirement dinner, he meets Zibby (Elizabeth Olsen) who reinvigorates Jesse’s confidence for the future.

The Trouble with the Truth

Robert (John Shea) is a struggling musician who does not agree with his daughter’s plan on getting married. His marriage with his wife (Lea Thompson) didn’t work out, so why would anyone else’s? After Robert reconnects with his wife, he learns that love, marriage, and divorce are a lot more complicated than originally thought.
