The Walking Dead heads to the auction block

Fans of The Walking Dead will have the opportunity to own a piece of television history when Heritage Auctions presents The Walking Dead Universe Auction on October 30.

The showcase auction features costumes, props and set pieces from the world of AMC’s hit series The Walking Dead, offering fans and entertainment memorabilia collectors unprecedented access to acquire beloved pieces directly from the archives of the network that created the series.

Since its debut, The Walking Dead became a pop culture phenomenon and launched a thriving television franchise.

The series follows survivors confronting the undead and the human conflicts that emerge after civilization collapses. Its costumes and props helped tell that story, establishing the identities of its central characters and the deteriorated world around them.

Rick Grimes’ Signature Ensembles Take the Spotlight

Leading the auction highlights is Rick Grimes’ 11-piece Signature Costume and Accessory Group from The Walking Dead (AMC, 2010–2022).

Played by Andrew Lincoln, Rick Grimes is the former sheriff’s deputy whose search for his family launched the series. The collection brings together elements of the character’s signature appearance.

Rick’s transformation from lawman to survivor and community leader anchors much of the flagship series. His recognizable clothing and equipment connect collectors and fans alike with a character whose decisions shaped the lives of those around him.

Another major highlight is Daryl Dixon’s 10-piece Signature Ensemble and Hero Crossbow from The Walking Dead (AMC, 2010–2022).

Played by Norman Reedus, Daryl became a central member of the survivor group. A skilled hunter and tracker, his signature look and crossbow became closely associated with the character, with the weapon emerging as one of the series’ most recognizable props.

The auction also turns the spotlight on the undead with a Walker 26-piece Costume Group from The Walking Dead franchise (AMC, 2010–Present).

Representing the undead threat at the center of the franchise, the collection highlights the walkers that populate its post-apocalyptic world. Their deteriorated appearance and distressed clothing helped establish the visual identity of The Walking Dead.

Rounding out the highlighted lots is The Commonwealth Assortment of 46 Prop and Scene Dressing Items from The Walking Dead (AMC, 2010–2022).

Featured throughout Season 11, the collection includes street signs, banners, community maps and pamphlets from across the Commonwealth community. These production artifacts come directly from the permanent set and reflect the institutions of the community that became central to the flagship series’ final season.

The Walking Dead Universe Auction takes place October 30 through Heritage Auctions.
