Author Danny Jensen will celebrate the release of Unique Eats and Eateries of Los Angeles: The People and Stories Behind the Food with a special book launch and signing event on Friday, June 5, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Skylight Books in Los Angeles.

Among the featured eateries is Café Brasil, one of the city’s oldest Brazilian restaurants. Known for traditional favorites such as feijoada, Brazil’s national dish, the restaurant has become a gathering place for both the Brazilian community and adventurous diners looking to experience authentic flavors.
The book also highlights 27th Street Bakery, a South Los Angeles institution that has served its famous sweet potato pies for more than seven decades. In Chinatown, Jensen explores the enduring appeal of Phoenix Bakery, beloved for its fresh strawberry cake and almond cookies. Readers will also learn about Paul’s Kitchen, a longtime local favorite that earned the loyalty of legendary Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda.
