Mornings have become less about routine and more about reset. Whether it is a slow return to yourself before the day picks up or a quick moment to recalibrate, what you drink first often sets the tone for everything that follows. For this morning ritual reset, I tried offerings from Fresh Roasted Coffee and Positively Tea Company, each bringing a different kind of energy to the start of the day.
I will admit I have never been much of a coffee drinker. Lately, I find myself reaching for it more often, but mostly due to my work environment rather than habit. Tea has always been my preference, and that perspective definitely shaped this experience.
The Mexican blend from Fresh Roasted Coffee opens with a dark, rich aroma that feels heavy on the palate in the best way. It is smooth, grounded, and ideal for early mornings when you need a stronger push to get going. It leans into a classic dark roast profile and will likely appeal to those who already prefer bold coffee.

The Peruvian blend feels sharper and more direct. It is a medium roast, but still bold, with a noticeable punch that does not overwhelm. It sits in that in between space for someone who wants strength without going fully dark roast. Both coffees finish clean, with no lingering bitterness.
The coffee was sent in pods, though Fresh Roasted Coffee also offers beans depending on preference.
The teas from Positively Tea Company were immediately more aromatic in a different way. The Passion Fruit Black Tea carried a light berry like scent and includes caffeine, making it a smooth entry point into the day without the intensity of coffee. The Hibiscus tea had a soft rosy aroma and is naturally caffeine free, leaning more toward calm and balance.
Both teas are strong in flavor without being overpowering. I steeped them for about four minutes using unbleached tea bags, which allowed the flavor to fully develop. I added a splash of lemon juice and a bit of agave, which helped brighten both blends, especially the hibiscus.

Positively Tea Company also offers loose leaf tea as well as tea pods, adding flexibility depending on how you prefer to prepare your morning cup.
If coffee is about activation, tea is about ease. That distinction became clear throughout this tasting. For me, tea is what I reach for most often. Coffee tends to come in on the rare sluggish morning when I need something stronger to get moving. Otherwise, I prefer starting the day with something gentler that supports a more balanced pace.
Both Fresh Roasted Coffee and Positively Tea Company fit naturally into a morning ritual reset. One delivers immediate lift when needed, while the other offers a softer transition into the day. It simply depends on the kind of morning you are having.
