During the Season Two premiere event in Los Angeles, HBO officially announced the renewal of The Pitt for a third season. The news was shared by Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO and HBO Max Content, ahead of the show’s Season Two debut.
The Emmy-winning Max Original, produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, returns for its second season on Thursday, January 8, at 9:00 p.m. ET on HBO Max. The early renewal underscores the network’s confidence in the series, which has earned critical acclaim for its grounded portrayal of modern healthcare.
Created by R. Scott Gemmill, The Pitt offers a realistic look at the pressures facing healthcare workers in America, told through the experiences of frontline staff inside a contemporary Pittsburgh hospital. The series stars Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, leading an ensemble cast that includes Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Shabana Azeez, and Sepideh Moafi.
Season Two continues under the creative leadership of Gemmill and executive producer John Wells, alongside Wyle and a seasoned producing team with deep roots in character-driven television. With its third-season renewal secured before the new episodes even air, The Pitt continues to solidify its place as one of HBO’s standout contemporary dramas.
